A: The cure
for narcissistic personality disorder is yet to be known, but psychotherapy can
aid the person in learning to relate to people surrounding him/her in a more
positive way. The main target of this therapy is to aid the person in developing
a better self-esteem and more realistic expectations of other people. In some
cases, medication could be used to treat the distressing symptoms, like
behavioral problems that could surface in this disorder, but medication is not
the mainstay of personality disorder treatment.
